OHIO CITIZENS FOR THE ARTS

History

In 1976, Ohio Citizens for the Arts (OCA) was founded in an effort to champion arts and culture in Ohio and win an enduring place for arts and culture in the hearts and minds of legislators. Ohio Citizens for the Arts has since led the charge as Ohio’s statewide advocacy organization, helping to secure millions of dollars in state capital improvement grants for Ohio’s artists, cultural institutions, and citizens.

What We Do

We advocate for increased funding and public support for arts and culture in Ohio. Ohio Citizens for the Arts is a member-driven, not-for-profit, grass roots arts advocacy organization working to benefit the citizens of Ohio. OCA’s mission is to inrcease funding and public support for the arts through advocacy, education, and engagement. Engaging both grassroots and grass-tops, Ohio Citizens for the Arts works with our elected officials to garner support for increased funding and public support for arts and culture in the Buckeye State. Since its inception, OCA has worked to carry the message of Ohio’s arts organizations, artists, and cultural institutions to policymakers and the people of Ohio.
