Federal Budget Update

Last week the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee released its draft budget for FY 2020. The bill includes a proposed funding level of $167.5 million for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) - a significant $12.5 million increase over the FY 2019 funding level. This is the exact ask arts advocates made to members of Congress back in March at the 2019 National Arts Action Summit. This is a great win and proof that arts advocacy works!

The full U.S. House Appropriations Committee will be considering this bill in the coming weeks and action on the House floor will take place sometime in June.
